"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that pI have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus - Matthew 28:19-20

One of the ways we know that church is  crucial to God’s plan is through the responsibilities Jesus gave to the church.

The church is responsible for taking the good news of the gospel to everyone on planet earth.

What is the good news of the Gospel?  That God the Father has through the life, death, resurrection of Jesus Christ provided forgiveness for our rebellion against God our Creator.  This rebellion is sin.  Because God is holy he hates sin, he cannot and will not tolerate sin and has promised to judge sin.  That is extremely bad news for all because the Bible teaches that “all have sinned” and that the “wages of sin is death”.  In short our sin has earned us death.  Our sin has left us without hope and in desperate need of help.

Thankfully God in an act of amazing grace has provided hope and help through the death of his Son Jesus Christ.  All who will turn from their sins and turn to Christ by faith, trusting not in themselves but in Christ alone will be given grace.  Their sins will be forgiven and they will become completely new and spiritually alive.

How do we fully experience our new life?  We do so through discipleship.  Discipleship is simply the process of learning more about Christ and as we learn more about Christ we become more like him.

At Grace Community Church our goal is to have everyone involved in discipleship so that they glorify God by making progress in becoming like Christ.

All throughout the week you will find the members of GCC informally meeting together to read from the Bible discuss what they have read and how they can apply it to their lives.
